Charama is a city in central India, known for its ancient cave paintings. The paintings, discovered in a cave in the area, are estimated to be around 10,000 years old and depict humanoid figures and flying disks, raising theories about possible prehistoric encounters with extraterrestrial beings.
The paintings include figures with elongated limbs and round heads, devoid of facial lines, and disk-shaped objects resembling flying disks.
Because of their enigmatic features, these images have given rise to theories that suggest a connection to ancient astronauts or extraterrestrial visitors. The locals have long been telling stories about the “Rohela people”, small creatures who descended from the sky on round boats and sometimes kidnap the villains, who then never returned.
In 2014, the department of archaeology and culture of Chhattisgarh announced its intention to seek help from space agencies like NASA or ISRO to study the paintings.
Painted caves are located in Chandeli and Gotitola villages near Charama. They are thought to date back to the Mesolithic period, representing scenes of daily life, hunting and rituals of the hunter-gatherer peoples.
